TECHLOG Unveils Innovative Living Labs with Cutting-Edge Simulation at Barcelona SIL - International Logistics Conference

The Barcelona SIL - International Logistics Conference (Salon Internacional de Log&iacute;stica) - is set to commence as the summer months begin, providing an unparalleled platform for industry professionals. From June 7th to 9th, the 25th edition of this esteemed international event will be held, offering TECHLOG a unique opportunity to showcase the groundbreaking Living Labs it has supported over the past year.

Recognized as the largest international gathering of the logistics industry, this year&#39;s Barcelona SIL will be even more remarkable as it hosts four major international congresses concurrently, uniting the most prominent logistics experts. The event will feature the 39th ALACAT Congress, the 18th European Conference &amp; European Research Seminar of CSCMP, the 19th MedaLogistics Week, and the 26th edition of EUROLOG.

Throughout the three-day SIL event, the TECHLOG project will be actively promoting the benefits of simulation-based training at its dedicated stand. As part of this initiative, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a thrilling truck driving competition designed to test their skills in areas such as focus, accident prevention, environmental efficiency, and sustainability. The winner of the competition will be announced on June 8th. Additionally, the TECHLOG stand will showcase all other activities undertaken by the project. The 19th MedaLogistics Summit, taking place during the conference, will serve as a platform for project partners to emphasize the positive impact of technological transfer and innovation in simulation for companies. Distinguished representatives from the <a href="https://www.escolaeuropea.eu/">Escola Europea &ndash; Intermodal Transport</a>, <a href="https://www.ascame.org/">ASCAME</a>, <a href="https://thechamberalx.com/">Alexandria Chamber of Commerce</a>, <a href="https://ceeba.org/">CEEBA</a>, the <a href="https://cirem.unica.it/en/cirem-interuniversity-center-economic-research-and-mobility">University of Cagliari UNICA CIREM</a>, and the <a href="https://www.ccib.org.lb/en">Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut &amp; Mount Lebanon</a> will contribute to the conference discussions.

The project partners include the University of Cagliari in Italy (Lead beneficiary), the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts, and Agriculture of Maremma and Tirino (Italy), the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (Egypt), the European School of Short Shipping, EEIG (Spain), the Federation of Egyptian European Business Associations (Egypt), the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon (Lebanon), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sfax (Tunisia), and Sfax University (Tunisia).

TECHLOG Innovation at Barcelona SIL - International Logistics Conference

Beirut Chamber of Commerce organized a two-day workshop for policymakers within the EU funded project INTERNISA . Workshops were held on May 22nd and 23rd, 2023, and brought together public sector employees, NGO representatives, and private sector institutions.

The primary focus of the workshop was to address the objectives of the INTERNISA project, which aimed to enhance the digital skills of young women and increase female employment by bridging the gap between labor market supply and demand. Distinguished speakers, renowned for their academic and administrative expertise, actively participated in the workshop, contributing to its overall success. Each expert, in their respective fields, shed light on various aspects of the project and its broader societal impact, with a particular emphasis on its effects on women.

During the workshop, the attendees also discussed strategies for leveraging and developing the project to ensure its long-term sustainability. All participants expressed their agreement on the significance of the INTERNISA project and its alignment with the goals of their respective organizations and institutions. They recognized the potential for collaboration and networking among themselves to strengthen their collective efforts in supporting the project and capitalizing on its numerous outcomes.

Particular attention was given to the digital platform created by the project, which serves as a hub for connecting employers with female job seekers. Additionally, it provides a wide range of information sources and free training courses on digitalization, occupations, and the labor market. The platform was widely regarded as a valuable tool for facilitating employment opportunities and empowering women in the digital sphere.

Insights and feedback of participants would represent a key component of final recommendations of sustainability plan of Internisa.

التمثيل الدبلوماسي على مستوى السفراء مع لبنان

أصدر رئيس الهيئات الإقتصادية الوزير السابق محمد شقير بياناً رحب فيه بقرار مملكة البحرين إستئناف التمثيل الدبلوماسي على مستوى السفراء مع لبنان.

وأشاد شقير بالقرار معتبراً إياه خطوة في غاية الأهمية لإعادة العلاقات الى طبيعتها بين البلدين الشقيقين، ومؤشراً هاماً لتعافي علاقة لبنان مع كل الدول الخليجية الشقيقة.

وأكد شقير في بيانه عمق العلاقات التاريخية والأخوية مع الدول الخليجية التي تعتبر ركيزة الإستقرار الإجتماعي والإزدهار الإقتصادي للبنان، مشدداً في الوقت نفسه على ضرورة أن تقوم القوى السياسية في لبنان بواجباتها ومسؤولياتها لجهة إنتخاب رئيس للجمهورية وتشكيل حكومة جديدة تكون من ضمن أولوياتها والى جانب تنفيذ الإصلاحات والإتفاق مع صندوق النقد وإقرار خطة تعافي إقتصادي ومالي موثوقة وعادلة، إتخاذ كل الخطوات المناسبة التي من شأنها إعادة العلاقات مع الدول الخليجية الى طبيعتها.

وختم شقير بيانه بتوجيه الشكر للبحرين ملكاً وشعباً على وقوفها الدائم الى جانب لبنان وعلى احتضانها جالية كبيرة من اللبنانيين.

شقير يبحث مع بخاري آخر المستجدات على الساحة اللبنانية

وتشديد على ضرورة إنتخاب رئيس للجمهورية سريعاً للبدء بمسيرة التعافي والنهوض

التقى رئيس الهيئات الاقتصادية الوزير السابق محمد شقير سفير المملكة العربية السعودية وليد بخاري اليوم في دارته باليرزة.

وأشار بيان صادر عن مكتب شقير الاعلامي الى ان شقير أجرى مع السفير بخاري جولة أفق حول آخر المستجدات السياسية والإقتصادية والإجتماعية في لبنان. وقد تم التشديد على ضرورة انتخاب رئيس للجمهورية سريعاً وتشكيل حكومة للبدء بمسيرة التعافي والنهوض وتمكين لبنان واللبنانيين من الاستفادة من موسم الصيف، وكذلك تفعيل الطاقات والقطاعات الاقتصادية كافة، وتقوية الشراكة الاقتصادية مع دول الخليج لا سيما مع السعودية حيث هناك 22 اتفاقية ومذكرة تعاون بين البلدين جاهزة للتوقيع، وان انتخاب الرئيس وتشكيل الحكومة يفتح الباب للتوقيع عليها سريعاً والبدء بالإستفادة من مفاعيلها، فضلاً عن إعادة تصدير المنتجات اللبنانية الى المملكة ومجيء الأشقاء الخليجيين للإصطياف في لبنان الذين يعول عليهم في إنعاش السياحة&nbsp; والإقتصاد الوطني.

وقد أثنى شقير خلال اللقاء على الدور الريادي الذي تلعبه السعودية في لبنان وكذلك في ترسيخ الإستقرار والأمن والسلام في المنطقة، متمنياً للقمة العربية التي ستعقد في المملكة النجاح في ترسيخ أكبر قدر من التعاون والتضامن بين الدول العربية وتحقيق مصالحها على إختلافها.

Within the EU Funded project Techlog, the Chamber inaugurated the trucks drivers simulators lab within the objective to train the fleet of the haulage and and Lebanese logistics companies on advanced digitalised tools along with awareness training for truck drivers. . 
 
The Trainings will start end of January 2023 under the guidance of trucks drivers operators. The Eco-driving training will emphasises on road safety measures, and environmental best practices. Trainees will be awarded by the end of the training TECHLOG certifiate signed by Chamber of Beirut &amp; Mount Lebanon.
