Mr. Rabih Sabra, Director General of the Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon took part in the Executive Committee and General Assembly of the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce (ASCAME). Mr. Sabra stressed during the meeting about the primordial role of ASCAME in urging the affiliated Chambers along with their member enterprises to show solidarity with their Lebanese counterparts following the recent critical developments in Lebanon. He pointed out particularly the difficulties and challenges faced by the Lebanese importers to ensure credit lines and to transfer foreign currencies outside Lebanon. ASCAME meeting which took place on November 20 at the premises of Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, preceded the launching of The Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders (MedaWeek) where the Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon participated as partner within the EBSOMED project.
Enhancing Business Support Organizations and Business Networks in the Southern Neighborhood (EBSOMED), is a project co-financed by the European Union and coordinated by BUSINESSMED (Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises) as part of a consortium of six partners. More than 30 organizations from 26 countries are also affiliated to the project.
