Bridging the Mediterranean
Aiming at reviving the post Arab Spring Mediterranean economy, Businessmed president Mrs. Ouided Bouchamaoui met in Beirut with the president elect of ASCAME Mr. Mohamed Choucair, where joint cooperationbetween the two leading regional business organizations was discussed, both on bilateral basis as well as within the Med Alliance that encompasses Anima and Eurochambres .
Synergies between the work-plans of each organization were discussed, and means of supporting various initiatives of each organizations were discussed said President Bouchamaoui
Walking the talk, we will start immediately with the Meda Logistics held in parallel to the SIL Barcelona, as well as the Investment Summit to be held in Tunis, stressed President Bouchamaoui
President Choucair stressed on maximizing the existing excellent cooperation at all fronts initiated by ASCAME president Murat Yalçintas, and confirmed that it shall continue and expand once he assumes his duties during the next General Assembly meeting of ASCAME which will be held in Istanbul on the 26th of May 2012.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmed El Wakil, president of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers and 1st vice president of the Union of Arab Chambers, where he confirmed the full support to all joint initiatives, starting with the upcoming investment summit to be held in Tunis mid this year, both from Egypt as well as Arab countries.
Dr. Alaa Ezz, Businessmed coordinator presented the joint short listed CBC ENPI strategic projects and applications for standard CBC ENPI projects and highlighted that these regional projects shall fill the gap created by the end of the Invest-in-Med programme.
The three presidents further discussed bilateral cooperation between UTICA in Tunis, CCIB in Lebanon and FEDCOC in Egypt and the reactivation of the joint business councils.
