The final conference and steering committee meeting of the EU funded project Yep Med took place at Hotel Steigenberger in Damietta, Egypt on 24. & 25 July. The event was organized by Damietta Port Authority and lead beneficiary Escola Barcelona in presence of high-level representatives from Egypt and partner Mediterranean countries. Beirut Chamber, a key active partner in the project, also celebrated its successful results and achieved milestones.
The Chamber delegation was represented by Director General Rabih Sabra, Director of projects Hana Nehme, IT & Communication Manager Dory Abou Saab and Financial Manager Fady Sabeh. A significant highlight of the project was Beirut Chamber's development of new training curricula in port logistics sector, coaching program and regional job fairs, benefiting more than 450 Lebanese trainees. Director General Rabih Sabra presented in the opening ceremony the project's impact and sustainability path , emphasizing its relevance for the port of Beirut through port upscaling youth skills in port logistics.
Furthermore, Partners signed a partnership agreement with Escola to set the virtual collaborative framework PLIKA, aiming to ensure sustainability of YEP MED.
The two-days meeting concluded with a visit tour in Demietta Port where operations and terminal container activities were introduced to partners
