kick-off seminar of EU project EBSOMED in Tunis
The kick-off seminar of EBSOMED – Enhancing Business Support Organisations and Business Networks in the Southern Neighbourhood – project was held on 28 June in Tunis.
Organized by the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (Businessmed), the seminar aimed at presenting the regional project and all the activities that will be carried out in the view of enhancing business support organisations and business networks in the Southern Neighbourhood and to foster inter and intra-regional cooperation and new business partnerships.
More than 150 participants attended the conference including countries local authorities and institutions, international organizations, civil society platforms, and private sector actors.
Mr. Rabih Sabra, Director General of the Chamber of Beirut & Mount Lebanon took part in the panel discussions pertaining to Northern and Southern BSOs’ visions and expectations where he introduced the Chamber role, past experiences within EU projects, expectations and potential contribution to EBSOMED.
He stressed on the faced challenges during the deployment of different projects and shed lights on the various spillovers generated by such significant cooperation on the socio economic development at the local and Mediterranean level. Mr. Sabra exchanged with the panelists some learnt lessons that shall be either replicated or prevented while approaching the upcoming ENI projects.
