The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Lebanon

To fulfil its commitment to the UN SDGs, the Council of Minsters has established in June 2017, a national committee to oversee and guide the roll-out of the SDGs in Lebanon. The committee is chaired by the prime minister and includes more than 50 state officials at DG level to ensure work continues regardless of political developments. The committee also includes civil society and the private sector representatives among which the Federation of Lebanese Chambers to raise awareness of and integrate the SDGs into national policies and programs; to build a national database to assess achievement towards the SDGs and to regularly review Lebanon progress using the Voluntary National Review VNR process.
