The up skilling imperative: vocational training and the new offer of BSOs’ services
The third BUSINESSMED webinar within the series on “Building back resilience” was held on December 07, 2020 in the framework of EBSOMED project.
The Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon as an active partner in this important project, participated in the webinars through the contributions of Mr. Rabih Sabra, the director general.
In his presentation, Mr. Sabra gave an overview about the TVET situation in Lebanon and the role and initiatives of the Beirut Chamber in relation to the TVET sector. These include the employers surveys on skills needs in TVET with the European Training Foundation (ETF), the on-going ENI CBC projects YEP MED and INTERNISA which aim at supporting NEETS especially youth and women in upgrading their skills and creating job opportunities.
Mr. Sabra also mentioned the Mashreq Gender Facility, which is a peer-learning platform, established in partnership with the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group that aims at raising the capacity and awareness of businesses regarding women’s participation and economic empowerment.
