The Chamber of Beirut & Mount Lebanon (CCIA-BML), signed within the IHERITAGE, research partnerships with three prominent universities in Lebanon. The aim is to combine efforts in researching both tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Lebanon and to leverage research with ICT and AR VR products.
The three academic institutions chosen for this undertaking are the Université Saint Joseph (USJ), the American University of Technology (AUT), and the School of Architecture & Design at the University Of Kaslik (USEK). These partnerships will concentrate on creating innovative products and services, which will be planned and executed by AR VR application and game development specialists outsourced by CCIA-BML.
The fruit of these three research partnerships will revolve around the Byblos UNESCO site and form the backbone of AR VR apps and games along with a series of "co-publications" which will be made accessible online.
These research agreements have a broader goal of advancing the commercialization of public research and bolstering industrial R&D. The ultimate aim is to use academic knowledge and innovation to drive economic growth and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Lebanon.
