The final conference and steering committee meeting of the EU funded project Yep Med took place at Hotel Steigenberger in Damietta, Egypt on 24. &amp; 25 July. The event was organized by Damietta Port Authority and lead beneficiary Escola Barcelona in presence of high-level representatives from Egypt and partner Mediterranean countries. Beirut Chamber, a key active partner in the project, also celebrated its successful results and achieved milestones.

The Chamber delegation was represented by Director General Rabih Sabra, Director of projects Hana Nehme, IT &amp; Communication Manager Dory Abou Saab and Financial Manager Fady Sabeh. A significant highlight of the project was Beirut Chamber&#39;s development of new training curricula in port logistics sector, coaching program and regional job fairs, benefiting more than 450 Lebanese trainees. Director General Rabih Sabra presented in the opening ceremony the project&#39;s impact and sustainability path , emphasizing its relevance for the port of Beirut through port upscaling youth skills in port logistics.

Furthermore, Partners signed a partnership agreement with Escola to set the virtual collaborative framework PLIKA, aiming to ensure sustainability of YEP MED.

The two-days meeting concluded with a visit tour in Demietta Port where operations and terminal container activities were introduced to partners

Beirut Chamber, partner in EU funded project iHeritage organized over last week a sequence of free innovation and AR/VR training sessions. This initiative aimed to foster an appreciation for cultural heritage sites through ICT tools and attract participants from various backgrounds, including young talents, students, SMEs, and the public sector. Through immersive learning experiences, 16 persons comprising university students, cultural heritage enthusiasts, as well as marketing and ICT professionals, delved into the world of AR/VR under the guidance of trainers experts Evan Fakhoury and Marc Abou Abdallah. Trainees utilized cutting-edge AR/VR headsets to explore and promote the rich heritage sites of Lebanon. They embarked on an exceptional voyage in the rapidly emerging and innovative field of AR/VR in Lebanon

سبل تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي الثنائي

استقبل رئيس الهيئات الإقتصادية الوزير السابق محمد شقير رئيس غرفة التجارة والصناعة في عَمان خليل الحاج توفيق في مقر غرفة بيروت وجبل لبنان، وبحث معه سبل تنمية العلاقات الإقتصادية الثنائية وتعزيز التعاون بين القطاع الخاص في البلدين.

بداية رحب شقير بالضيف، مشيداً بالعلاقات الأخوية بين لبنان والاردن، ومؤكداً ضرورة العمل والسعي لتحقيق نقلة نوعية في العلاقات الإقتصادية الثنائية.

وأكد شقير وجود الكثير من الفرص الواعدة، &quot;لذلك لا بد من زيادة التعاون والتواصل بين رجال الأعمال في البلدين لتحديد الفرص المتاحة والعمل عليها&quot;.

من جهته، أشاد توفيق بالجهود الذي يبذلها شقير والأفكار التي طرحها لتنمية العلاقات الاقتصادية الثنائية، مؤكداً على الشراكة القوية مع القطاع الخاص اللبناني وعلى السعي سوياً لتعزيز التعاون وتنمية العلاقات الأقتصادية على مختلف المستويات.

وفي ختام المحادثات، اتفق الجانبان على تبادل الزيارات وتنظيم لقاءات عمل لرجال الأعمال في البلدين في لبنان وفي الاردن، لتحديد الفرص المتاحة وافساحاً في المجال أمام إقامة شراكات عمل في ما بينهم.

كما قدم شقير لتوفيق كتاب غرفة بيروت وجبل لبنان.

شقير ودويو وتامر يوقعون إتفاق تعاون

لبناني فرنسي لمساعدة الشركات للإستثمار في البلدين

وقع رئيس الهيئات الاقتصادية رئيس غرفة بيروت وجبل لبنان الوزير السابق محمد شقير مع رئيس الغرفة اللبنانية الفرنسية غابي تامر ورئيس غرفة التجارة والصناعة لفرنسا ولبنان مدير عام المعهد العالي للأعمال (ESA) ماكسانس دويو في مقر غرفة بيروت وجبل لبنان، اتفاق تعاون يقضي بمساعدة شركات البلدين للاستثمار في البلد الآخر.

ولإنجاح هذا التعاون، وضعت غرفة بيروت وجبل لبنان بتصرف المجموعة الناشئة عن هذا الاتفاق مكتباً خاصاً لها في الطابق الثامن في مقرها في الصنائع، وذلك من أجل تمكين الشركات الفرنسية الاستفادة من الخدمات الطبيقية التي تقدمها الغرفة لاعضائها، في حين تؤمن غرفة التجارة والصناعة لفرنسا ولبنان للمجموعة الوظائف التي يحتاجها المشروع.

وكذلك تعمل المجموعة بتسهيل أمور الشركات اللبنانية التي تود دخول الاسواق الفرنسية وأسواق الاتحاد الاوروبي.

وفي هذا الإطار، أشاد شقير بالاتفاق &quot;الذي يرسي أسس وركائز عملية لتحقيق قفزة نوعية في العلاقات الإقتصادية اللبنانية الفرنسية خصوصاً في تعزيز التعاون والتفاعل بين القطاع الخاص في البلدين&quot;، معتبراً أن توقيع هذا الاتفاق في هذا المرحلة يستجيب لحاجات ملحة للاقتصاد اللبناني لجهة جذب الاستثمارات وكذلك لمتطلبات القطاع الخاص بتسهيل أمور الشركات اللبنانية الراغبة في الاستثمار في فرنسا واوروبا.

دويو

أما دويو فقد رحب بالاتفاق، معتبراً اياه خطوة في غاية الأهمية لترسيخ التعاون الاقتصادي الفرنسي اللبناني من ضمن مسار العلاقات التاريخية بين البلدين، مؤكداً أن ذلك يأتي في إطار الاهتمام الفرنسي في لبنان وبمصالحه على مختلف المستويات لا سيما في الشق الاقتصادي.

تامر

أما تامر، فقد أكد ان الاتفاق يأتي ثمرة جهد وتعاون متواصل بين غرفة بيروت جبل لبنان والغرفة اللبنانية الفرنسية وغرفة التجارة والصناعة لفرنسا ولبنان ومعهد ESA ، آملاً ان يؤدي الى تفعيل الاستثمار بين البلدين والى تعزيز الشراكة بين القطاع الخاص اللبناني والفرنسي، مؤكداً &quot;أننا امام فرصة استثنائية لتفعيل الاستثمارات البينية وعلينا الاستفادة منها&quot;.

This JOB FAIR will constitute a meeting space between employers and skilled Lebanese youth looking for work, namely the Lebanese trainee&rsquo;s graduates of YEP MED port logistics international training program

YEP MED JOB FAIR – TRIPOLI and NORTH LEBANON

Zahle, July 15, 2023 &ndash; The YEP MED JOB Fair, an initiative of the Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, in partnership with The Chamber of Zahle and Bekaa, took place on July 15, 2023 at Chtaura Park Hotel. This event is part of a series aimed at connecting YEP MED graduates with employers in the logistics and international trade sector.

The fair featured participation from 20 renowned industry businesses and 82 young students in presence of vice president of Zahle Chamber Mr. Mounir Tineh, presenting a variety of opportunities for YEP MED graduates in the Bekaa region. Graduates had the chance to directly apply for jobs and demonstrate their skills to potential employers. The event was expertly organized, including interview facilitation for a smooth and productive experience for all participants.

The YEP MED JOB Fair serves not only as a venue for job hunting but also fosters industry collaboration and knowledge sharing. The Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon remains committed to nurturing a thriving business environment through these events.

This initiative will be expanded to other Lebanese districts in cooperation with regional Chambers, and a promotional campaign will be launched to aid YEP MED graduates in finding suitable employment within the sector.

استقبل رئيس الهيئات الإقتصادية الوزير السابق محمد شقير سفير قطر في لبنان ابراهيم بن عبد العزيز السهلاوي اليوم في مقر غرفة بيروت وجبل لبنان، في زيارة وداعية تم خلالها التطرق الى آخر المستجدات في البلاد.

بداية رحب شقير بالسهلاوي، شاكراً له كل الجهود التي بذلها خلال توليه مهامه سفيراً للدولة القطرية في بيروت، من أجل دعم لبنان ومساندة الشعب اللبناني خلال المرحلة الصعبة التي يمر بها.

استقبل سفير المملكة العربية السعودية وليد بخاري رئيس الهيئات الإقتصادية الوزير السابق محمد شقير يرافقه رئيس إتحاد مجالس رجال الأعمال اللبنانية الخليجية وسام عريس الذي تم انتخابه خلفاً للراحل سمير الخطيب، وعضوا مجلس إدارة الإتحاد هادي سوبرة ورجا الخطيب.

وكانت الزيارة مناسبة للتداول بآخر المستجدات في لبنان، والنشاطات التي يقوم بها إتحاد مجالس رجال الأعمال اللبنانية الخليجية وبرنامج عمله المستقبلي لا سيما لجهة تنمية العلاقات الإقتصادية وتعزيز التعاون بين القطاع الخاص اللبناني والخليجي.

لقاء مع السفير بخاري

Barcelona, July 11-12, 2023 - The 7th project meeting of the EU funded project INTERNISA took place in Barcelona, bringing together partners from spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia,Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon represented by the Chamber of Beirut. Director General Rabih Sabra, Director of Projects Hana Nehme Haidar and IT &amp; Communication Manager Dory Abou Saab &nbsp;represented Beirut Chamber in Internisa steering committe meetings.This pivotal gathering centered around finalizing the outputs and deliverables of Work Package 5 (WP5), encompassing Offline Spots, Job Fairs, PR Campaigns, and Workshops. Partners also received up-to-date information on the INTERNISA Platform key indicators. 
 
The first day&#39;s agenda featured extensive discussions on scaling up and out, as well as networking efforts and signature of memornadums of understanding as part of Work Package 6 (WP6). Additionally, a presentation and discussion on the recommendation reports for expanding the involvement of policymakers and VET organizations generated valuable insights. 
 
On the second day, sessions focused on the Major Advocacy Event and an analytical presentation and discussion of the INTERNISA Sustainability Plan.&nbsp; 
 
The successful event showcased the dedication of all partners in driving the INTERNISA project forward. Co-funded by the European Union, INTERNISA aims to foster international collaboration and innovation in women digital skills acquisition and access to labor market.
